In order to serve you better, please remember:
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
If you wish, we will provide written prescriptions for products to be purchased elsewhere. We want you to make an informed decision, especially in situations where the products are exceptionally low priced. Please keep in mind that major manufacturers maintain a strict policy of sales exclusively through licensed veterinarians. Many online or catalog pharmacy sales appear to be through non-approved channels. Manufacturer guarantees on their products are null and void if products are purchased through non-approved channels. This includes guarantee reimbursement programs for heartworm, intestinal parasite and flea control claims. Pharmaceuticals manufactured and labeled for use in other countries have been illegally diverted and sold through online and catalog sources in the United States. Many discount pet pharmacies have been cited and fined innumerable times in multiple states by the FDA and State Boards of Pharmacy for violating prescribing procedures.
We will provide written prescriptions according to the following guidelines:
The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy reviews online pharmacy sites and accredits recommended sites through the VIPPS or Vet-VIPPS program. http://www.NABP.net provides a link to recommended internet pharmacy sites. There are currenty at least two sites approved for veterinary patients.
It is our goal to serve you in every way possible, including making your financial experience clear, understandable and easy to navigate.
We offer a broad spectrum of services, expertise, equipment and procedures to give your pet the best possible care. We want you to understand each step of your pet's care, both the services you receive and the associated estimated costs. Be sure to ask for an estimate from your veterinarian or call our office during regular business hours to request an estimate. We may NOT be able to make an estimate for patients we have not examined for issues diagnosed elsewhere until we examine the patient and any supporting lab work or radiographs ourselves.
The Delmar Animal Hospital may charge an initial emergency fee when patients come to the office without a scheduled appointment. This is up to the discretion of the attending veterinarian.
For any routine procedure, such as spays and neuters and annual physical exams, payment is expected at time of service. Payment plans through PaymentBanc are available for large cost, unforeseen care and may require a credit check. Payment plans are not available to new clients or clients not passing the credit check.
The Delmar Animal Hospital accepts cash, single-party checks, VISA and Mastercard. Payment is required at time of service.
